We are pleased to announce that during the Spring Careers in Coal (CI-Coal) meeting, Mr. Robert L. Evans was named President for the 2013-2014 term. CI-Coal was founded in 1963, as a sounding board for industry problems and opportunities. Among varied projects undertaken by CI-Coal is the recognition of outstanding students attending premiere universities in the mining industry. Each year graduating seniors are identified and presented with a handsome, solid brass miner’s antique flame lantern, suitably inscribed, and commemorating the student’s achievement and scholarship abilities. Most often the lamps are presented to the recipients by CI-Coal members who graduateda from the same institution years earlier. Visit the CI-Coal website at cicol.org for additional information.
